NationSwell and Marguerite Casey Foundation are proud to present “Invisible No More: Voices from Native America,” an MCF Book Club event celebrating and centering Native American luminaries who are leading in the areas of Indigenous economics, environmental justice, and community-building.
The essays in Invisible No More feature stories from diverse Native nations, shedding light on their ongoing struggle for justice, the history and ongoing impact of genocide and settler colonialism, and the theft of Native land and resources that have led to the racialized upward consolidation of wealth in philanthropy and beyond.
Join Michael Roberts, Trisha Kehaulani Watson, and Heather Fleming, a few of the essayists who contributed their words and stories to the collection, as well as Dr. Carmen Rojas, President + CEO of Marguerite Casey Foundation, for a timely conversation on how the lessons we learn from stories of Native community-building can help us redress historic inequities, create just societies, and cultivate a better world.
As our planet grapples with a climate crisis and widening inequality, Invisible No More offers readers a powerful reminder of the ongoing strength, wisdom, traditions, and creative resistance of Indigenous communities. Don’t miss this chance to challenge your assumptions and find inspiration in these transformative narratives. Each guest will receive a free copy of Invisible No More: Voices from Native America at the event.
This event is part of the MCF Book Club: Reading for a Liberated Future series. The MCF Book Club shares the ideas of leaders who encourage us to imagine how we can radically transform our democracy, economy, and society.
