Virtual Leader Roundtable
Tuesday, December 5, 2023
4:00pm – 5:00pm ET / 1:00pm – 2:00pm PT
One year out from the 2024 election, the dangers of hyperpolarization, political violence, and support for anti-democratic candidates are now evident and well-documented. We are well past the point of diagnosing these inbound threats — now is the time for solutions, and we’ve heard from members that you’re very keen to engage.
There is great work already being done on the ground to safeguard our institutions and democratic norms: grassroots efforts to support free and fair voting, campaigns to reduce partisan animosity, and programs dedicated to fortifying internet access for communities in need. But more work is needed — particularly ahead of a high-stakes election year that holds great potential to divide us anew.
To that end, please join us for a special pop-up event where we’ll discuss what to expect in the upcoming 2024 election and how we can better prepare ourselves to face these renewed threats to democracy. This will be the first in a series of events we’ll hold as we look ahead to and anticipate the political events 2024 has in store.
Together with Ian Bassin — a co-founder and the executive director of Protect Democracy and a former associate White House counsel — and a fantastic group of experts, we’ll hear from those on the forefront of what’s already happening; explore the solutions that are already working; examine the persistent pain points; and discuss how we can best show up in the spirit of openness, compassion, and diligence a thriving democracy requires.
NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning, inspiration, relationship-building, and societal impact.
