About

Join the Schultz Family Foundation, research consultancy HarrisX, and NationSwell for an exclusive first look at The Broken Marketplace: A Study of America’s School-to-Work Crisis, a landmark national research project  illuminating the fractured ecosystem facing Generation Z as they transition from high school into the workforce.

Simply put, we have a generation that is ready to work but is stalled by a system that isn’t working.

Unlike many previous studies, the Broken Marketplace examines the full ecosystem of stakeholders who influence young adults—parents, navigators, and employers—and how their disconnected expectations contribute to systemic dysfunction.

This convening brings together leaders from business, philanthropy, education, workforce development, and government to engage directly with the study’s findings and explore actionable solutions. Through a blend of interactive, data-driven discussions and expert explorations, participants will unpack why millions of young adults are struggling to launch their careers—and what it will take to build a more effective and connected system.

To encourage open and candid discussion, this event follows the Chatham House Rule – attendees may share insights from the conversation but cannot attribute statements to specific individuals or organizations. This ensures a trusted space for thoughtful dialogue and deeper insights.
