For generations, the American Dream rested on a basic promise: work hard, and you’ll get ahead. Today, housing, child care, and the basic costs of living have outpaced wages for many families, and the path to opportunity is narrowing for far too many. Yet this strain is not a fixed condition; it’s a call to rethink how we build economic mobility and financial security in this country.

NationSwell’s Q4 Salon series brings together impact leaders from business, philanthropy, and the social sector for intimate, in-person conversations about affordability, opportunity, and what it will take to renew the American Dream for the next generation. Across cities throughout the U.S., we’ll surface and explore the solutions and models showing the greatest promise — from housing innovation and workforce development to new approaches for expanding access to capital and wealth-building.

Salons are designed for in-person connection across the broader NationSwell community, bringing together members at various levels for thoughtful, informal conversation. They’re a welcoming entry point for members who are newer to the community, exploring a topic, or simply looking to meet fellow members they haven’t yet had the chance to connect with.

To encourage open and candid discussion, this event follows the Chatham House Rule – attendees may share insights from the conversation but cannot attribute statements to specific individuals or organizations. This ensures a trusted space for thoughtful dialogue and deeper insights.
