About
This NationSwell immersive experience — hosted by George Kaiser Family Foundation — is an interactive 1.5 day event taking place in Tulsa, OK focused on showing place-based impact in action. Attendees will tour on-the-ground examples of place-based initiatives, take part in meaningful discussions between funders, grantees, scholars, and advocates, and explore innovative strategies to foster thriving and inclusive communities.
This immersive experience will allow attendees to explore the principles of place-based impact, and their importance to marginalized communities in fast-growing cities and rural areas, through the lens of specific activation in Tulsa. Participants will gain valuable insights for effective programmatic work and funding strategies tailored to unique community needs, engage with local stakeholders, learn from successful collaborations, and explore innovative solutions — ultimately laying the foundation for collective action to amplify impact.

Explore Tulsa’s history and vibrant community at your own pace with a self-guided tour filled with local activities. Later, enjoy a welcome dinner to connect with your fellow attendees and prepare for the weekend ahead. End your night with Oktoberfest if you’re interested!
