On the threshold of a Presidential election and pending supreme court decisions on a range of critical social issues, philanthropic institutions are engaged in reflection and dialogue around their responsibilities to U.S. democracy and the social progress it offers but does not promise. They’re doing so without clear direction or precedent and amid the swirl of a uniquely polarized environment.
As such, philanthropic leaders are weighing a multitude of tension points and considerations:
What is the right role for philanthropy in this moment and how do you navigate an increasingly political world? Are funders bettering society more by building bridges, or does pluralism take the energy out of this drive towards change?
This curated conversation will be an opportunity for a small group of committed leaders to have an honest, open, and collegial discussion about the role of philanthropy in this moment of cultural reckoning, political divisiveness, and introspection.
NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning, inspiration, relationship-building, and societal impact.
