The mission of Mount Tamalpais College is to provide an intellectually rigorous, inclusive Associate of Arts degree program and College Preparatory Program, free of charge, to people at San Quentin State Prison; to expand access to quality higher education for incarcerated people; and to foster the values of equity, civic engagement, independence of thought, and freedom of expression.
Join us for a guided tour of Mt. Tamalpais College where we will see campus facilities, observe lessons, speak with students and faculty, and learn about the mission, vision, and impact of America’s first independent liberal arts institution dedicated specifically to serving incarcerated students. Immediately after the tour, NationSwell will host a follow-up discussion + Q and A session with Mt. Tamalpais College President, Jody Lewen, at Farmshop Marin.

The health and safety of our NationSwell members, staff, and community is incredibly important to us. In order to keep everyone safe, we require proof of full vaccination from everyone in attendance at the event. Fully vaccinated is defined as at least 14 days after receiving the final vaccine in a one- or two-shot protocol with a vaccine approved by the FDA or WHO (including emergency use authorization). We also encourage all attendees, presenters, and staff to wear a mask when in the event space and not actively eating or drinking
