So\, what are the frameworks and principles that are helping corporate philanthropic leaders to drive effective strategies? How are leaders ensuring that they are effectively managing\, communicating with and bringing along key internal and external stake-holders? What are the partnership or principles that are helping leaders to unlock that next level of impact? \nWe’ll explore these questions – and more – with some of the leaders in corporate philanthropy who are setting the standard. Importantly\, we hope that leaders from private philanthropy will join as well! This roundtable should offer a rare and illuminating line of sight into corporate philanthropy and leaders from private philanthropy have much to offer the conversation! \nThis NationSwell Leader Roundtable is for NationSwell Institutional Members. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse\, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning\, inspiration\, relationship-building\, and societal impact.

How will we be the people we want to be – and live the life that we hope to live? How can we experience meaning\, be of service and fulfill the promise of our potential as leaders and humans? They are big\, perennial and even eternal questions. Every year\, at the start of the year\, NationSwell holds space for members to come together to share what is most helping them to live a well-lived life.  \nIt’s a challenging time for everyone – and purpose-driven leaders aren’t immune. As much as ever\, it’s important to gather with a diverse and values-aligned group of peer leaders to hear what’s working best for them; to share\, reflect\, consider\, examine and connect. Our aim for the conversation will be to surface a wide range of ideas\, practices\, principles and approaches that members can bring into your life to help you to live the life you want to lead. \nWe’ll aim to provide sparks of insight\, connection and inspiration; and to fuel your engine and fill up your cup to help you enter 2023 with purpose\, intention and buoyed by the insight\, wisdom and generosity of spirit at the heart of this special community. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse\, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning\, inspiration\, relationship-building\, and societal impact.

SUMMARY:The Future of the Workforce - San Francisco
DESCRIPTION:The Future of the Workforce – San Francisco\n \n \n \n \n \n In-Person Event | San Francisco\nWednesday\, February 1\, 2023\, \n6:00pm – 9:00pm PT\n \n I'm interested in joining this event. \n \n \n \n \n \n I am interested in joining The Future of the Workforce – San Francisco.\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About\n \n \n \n \n \n Location information will be provided in a separate email once your registration has been confirmed. \nNew challenges exacerbated by the pandemic have created a unique inflection point — a necessary pause that leaders of companies across the country are using to step back and reimagine a workforce that could better serve their teams. Educational institutions have responded to the ways under-resourced and disenfranchised groups were disproportionately hit and are coming up with solutions that can build untraditional pipelines into the future of work; think tanks are considering the ways an uncertain political future may impact the career preparation ecosystem; and leaders across sectors are advancing programs that can support all levels of learning and skill-building\, from K-12\, to college associates and vocational degrees\, to adult education\, and to professional development.  \nDuring a series of inspiring salons hosted across three cities — New York\, San Francisco\, and Washington\, D.C. — we’ll unpack some of the biggest questions about how to build that workforce of the future: How can we build pathways to opportunity that are accessible for a wider array of people? What are the skills needed to set today’s workforce up for success? How can we balance individual flexibility and seamless collaboration? What are the right ways to talk about and mitigate burnout? And how can we become the best leaders we can be — both online and off? \nEach conversation will be tailored to the specific work and unique challenges that are playing out for leaders in that city. Although we know that no one company\, sector\, or industry can advance the state of work on its own\, our hope is that by drawing examples from the inspiring leaders who are innovating across the country\, we’ll be able to create composite image of the best solutions\, recommendations\, tools\, and opportunities available\, which we can then share with our wider community.  \nThis event is open to all Council members\, especially CEOs\, founders\, educators\, researchers and others in leadership roles.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Featured Participants\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Nitzan Pelman\nCEO \nClimb Hire \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Patrice Berry\nChief Impact Officer \nEnd Poverty in California (EPIC)\, formerly\, Office of Mayor Libby Schaaf \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jen Gresham\nFounder \nWork for Humanity \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Host\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Matt Spence\nManaging Director and Head of Venture Capital Banking \nBarclays \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Facilitator\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Ray Hutchison\nVice President Council \nNationSwell \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n SCHEDULE \n \n \n \n \n \n 6:00 PM \nWelcome and Happy Hour \n7:00 PM \nFormal Discussion \n8:15 PM \nReflect and Mingle \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COVID-19 In-Person Policy\n \n \n \n \n \n The health and safety of our NationSwell members\, staff\, and community is incredibly important to us. SUMMARY:The Future of the Workforce – New York City
DESCRIPTION:The Future of the Workforce – New York City \n \n \n \n \n \n In Person Event | New York City\, New YorkWednesday\, January 25\, 20236:00 pm – 9:00 pm EST \n \n I'm interested in joining this event. \n \n \n \n \n \n I am interested in joining The Future of the Workforce\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About\n \n \n \n \n \n Location information will be provided in a separate email once your registration has been confirmed. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n FEATURING\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Larry Johnson\nPresident \nGuttman Community College \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Radha Ruparell\nHead of Global Leadership Accelerator \nTeach for All \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Maria Flynn\nPresident and CEO \nJobs for the Future \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n AGENDA\n \n \n \n \n \n 6:00 PMWelcome and Happy Hour \n7:00 PMFormal Discussion \n8:15 PMReflect and Mingle \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COVID-19 In-Person Policy\n \n \n \n \n \n The health and safety of our NationSwell members\, staff\, and community is incredibly important to us. SUMMARY:Closing the Racial Wealth Gap and Increasing Access to Capital
DESCRIPTION:Closing the Racial Wealth Gap and Increasing Access to Capital\n \n \n \n \n \n Virtual Leader RoundtableWednesday January 25\, 20234:00pm – 5:00PM EDT \n \n I'm interested in joining this event.\n \n \n \n \n \n I am interested in joining the NationSwell Virtual Leader Roundtable on Closing the Racial Wealth Gap and Access to Capital\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ABOUT\n \n \n \n \n \n Due in large part to the pandemic\, environmental inequities\, and inflation\, the last few years have seen an already persistent racial wealth gap grow even more extreme. Leaders across sectors are examining the role and responsibility they have to play in shrinking that gap\, particularly as the looming threat of a recession threatens to present a host of new challenges for marginalized communities and people of color.  \nDuring this NationSwell Leader Roundtable\, we’ll hear from a powerful group of cross-sector leaders on the work they’re doing across business\, philanthropy\, finance and government to level the playing field and increase access to capital\, with a particular eye towards uncovering some of the most promising initiatives\, investments\, and potential collaborations. \nInstitutional Members or senior colleagues working in DEIB or interested in how businesses\, philanthropies\, and investment firms can play a role in making the world more equitable and just are all welcome to attend. Together\, we’ll discuss the actionable steps businesses can take to increase the flow of capital to POC-owned businesses\, reduce systemic lender bias\, and create a more egalitarian future for all. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse\, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning\, inspiration\, relationship-building\, and societal impact.

SUMMARY:Inclusive Leadership: How We Lead Online and Offline
DESCRIPTION:Inclusive Leadership: How We Lead Online and Offline\n \n \n \n \n \n Location: VirtualWednesday\, January 18\, 20234:00pm – 5:00pm ET | 1:00pm – 2:00pm PT \n \n I'm interested in joining this event. \n \n \n \n \n \n I am interested in joining Inclusive Leadership: How We Lead Online and Offline.\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About\n \n \n \n \n \n The leaders at the helm of today’s impact organizations are being asked to contend with two very different versions of reality: the physical\, “real world\,” in which we live\, and the virtual\, online world where so much of our work\, connection\, and communication is increasingly taking place.  \nThe newness of hybrid and remote work have prompted a string of urgent questions for leaders: How can we recenter things like connectedness\, community\, and partnership in a way that accounts for our new definitions of proximity and closeness? Do the traditional metrics for success still make sense\, or should we be retraining our focus on a broader set of outcomes? And\, above all else: What is the right way to work for social impact organizations\, nonprofits\, and social enterprises in 2023?  \nJoin us for a pragmatic conversation on what we’re seeing\, learning\, and trying as we attempt to lead both online and offline in our own organizations. Together\, we’ll piece together a composite sketch of what our peer leaders are piloting as they reimagine what inclusive leadership can look like in a new hybrid workforce. \nThis is the first event in a virtual series focused on reimagining leadership in a hybrid workforce. Our goal is to carve out virtual space for connection\, support\, and shared learning for any leaders of nonprofits\, businesses\, social enterprises\, and communities who are navigating the new landscape that is hybrid work. All members of the NationSwell Council are welcome to attend. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Upcoming Events\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Check out the Council calendar to learn more about upcoming events. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse\, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning\, inspiration\, relationship-building\, and societal impact.

But even as we attempt to anchor ourselves\, the field of ESG continues to shift and evolve rapidly in response to a wide-range of complex pressures: anxiety over the national and global economy\, the consequences of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine\, the chaos that environmental crises have wreaked on supply chains\, shifts in control of Congress and state houses\, and more. \nJoin us to hit the ground running on fine-tuning our strategies and approaches to ESG in 2023. Together\, we’ll map the state of play for the field\, learn the new cases that its critics and proponents are making\, and surface one another’s perspectives and outlooks on this moment in ESG\, our prognosis for its future\, and its implications for our organizations\, our teams\, and the communities we serve \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse\, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning\, inspiration\, relationship-building\, and societal impact.

SUMMARY:Looking Ahead: The 2023 Sustainability Agenda
DESCRIPTION:Looking Ahead: The 2023 Sustainability Agenda\n \n \n \n \n \n Tuesday\, December 6\, 2022\n3:00pm – 4:00pm EDT | 12:00pm – 1:00pm PST\nLocation: Virtual\n \n RSVP for this event\n \n \n \n \n \n I am interested in joining Looking Ahead: The 2023 Sustainability Agenda.\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About\n \n \n \n \n \n Sustainability is no longer just a buzzword: it’s an imperative — for consumers\, companies\, and governments alike\, all across the world. In recent years\, geopolitical conflict\, natural resource shortages\, rising inequality\, and increasingly frequent extreme weather patterns have accelerated our collective need to address the impacts of climate change with greater urgency. There is a rising tide of interest in sustainable consumption\, greater investment in green technologies and circular economy business models\, as well as ongoing integration of ESG into investment strategies. Shareholders are starting to demand executive compensation to be linked to ESG performance. Given the SEC’s new requirements on public company climate disclosures\, businesses must go beyond declaring net zero targets to specifying with greater rigor\, transparency\, and consistency how such goals will be achieved. What is our progress to date on the UN Sustainable Development Goals\, and how can we align ourselves to a more ambitious plan and agenda in order to safeguard our future? \n  \nThis event is presented in partnership with Morgan Stanley. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n What We’ll Discuss\n \n \n \n \n \n Join us for a one hour\, private virtual roundtable as we look ahead and discuss the 2023 Sustainability Agenda. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Featured Participants\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jessica Alsford\nChief Sustainability Officer and CEO of the Institute for Sustainable Investing \nMorgan Stanley \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Nili Gilbert\nVice Chairwoman \nCarbon Direct \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Jessica Hyman\nHead of Sustainability and DEI \nAtlassian \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Debra McCoy\nPartner \nBain & Company \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Moderator\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Greg Behrman\nCEO and Moderator \nNationSwell \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Upcoming Events\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n				 Learn more about upcoming events. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse\, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning\, inspiration\, relationship-building\, and societal impact.

DESCRIPTION:The Future of the American Dream\, Boston\n \n \n \n \n \n Boston\, MA (Back Bay)Thursday\, November 17 | 6:00pm – 9:00pm EDT \n \n I'm interested in joining this event. \n \n \n \n \n \n I am interested in joining the conversation on The Future of the American Dream. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About\n \n \n \n \n \n Location information will be provided in a separate email once your registration has been confirmed. \nThe American people have over the past few decades seen their grip on their economic and personal agency become more tenuous. In Boston and beyond\, wages have stagnated while inflation continues to rise\, making incomes that once put workers squarely in the middle class in a position of economic precarity. At the same time\, wealth continues to accumulate at record levels among the top 1%\, while ordinary Americans struggle through the pandemic\, prepare for a recession\, and worry about social and economic strife. \nJoin fellow NationSwell Council members for an informative and engaging dinner conversation where we will tackle questions of how we can restore\, or better yet\, interrogate and reimagine the American Dream and create an inclusive and equity-driven society and economy that works for all. We will examine where our individual and collective power lies — in the workplace\, in the economy\, and in our communities — and how we can wield it in solidarity to restore our agency and positively impact our economic and social outcomes. \nThis participatory event is for local Council members who are interested in social justice\, economic opportunity\, and generational equity. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n AGENDA\n \n \n \n \n \n 6:00 PMWelcome and Happy Hour \n6:45 PMDinner and Discussion \n8:30 PMMingle with fellow Council members \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COVID-19 In-Person Policy\n \n \n \n \n \n The health and safety of our NationSwell members\, staff\, and community is incredibly important to us. SUMMARY:Break the Bias Part 4: Understanding Reproductive Healthcare and Access Through Inspiring Examples\, New York City
DESCRIPTION:Break the Bias Part 4: Understanding Reproductive Healthcare and Access Through Inspiring Examples\, New York City\n \n \n \n \n \n In-Person Event | New York CityNovember 2\, 6:00pm – 9:00pm ET \n \n Join the Waitlist.\n \n \n \n \n \n I am interested in joining the conversation Understanding Reproductive Healthcare and Access\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About\n \n \n \n \n \n The fight to secure access to safe reproductive health care faces an uphill climb. With the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson eliminating the constitutional right to abortions and a flurry of restrictive legislation being proposed\, passed\, and enacted\, the work can be both physically exhausting and emotionally draining. But there is reason to be optimistic. \nJoin fellow Council Leaders for a discussion on the future of reproductive health and justice. The discourse surrounding abortion can sometimes feel devisive\, but reproductive rights is a conversation for all — one that includes issues of health\, equal opportunity\, justice\, and civic action. \nInspiring organizations are already finding opportunities to affect change\, such as Sister Song\, Collective Power\, Reproductive Health Access Project\, and Caraway Health.  \nThis Jeffersonian-style salon\, hosted by NationSwell Council members Tory Clarke\, co-founder and Partner at Bridge Partners\, and Beth Bengtson\, CEO of Working for Women\, is an opportunity to think deeply about how we might reimagine the future of reproductive health and rights\, and ask how we can be inspired by those already working in this sphere to continue to take action in thoughtful ways that drive change. \nThis in-person event is for leaders and activists with a strong interest in equity\, justice\, and human rights. Light bites and drinks will be provided.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Hosted By\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Tory Clarke\nCo-founder and Partner \nBridge Partners \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Facilitated By\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Beth Bengtson\nCEO  \nWorking for Women \n \n Learn more\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n COVID-19 In-Person Policy\n \n \n \n \n \n The health and safety of our NationSwell members\, staff\, and community is incredibly important to us.
