SUMMARY:The Bottom Line: Collective Action for Clean Air
DESCRIPTION:The Bottom Line: Collective Action for Clean Air\n \n \n \n \n \n Virtual RoundtableWednesday\, April 23\, 202511:00am – 12:00pm ET  \n \n I'm interested in joining this event. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About\n \n \n \n \n \n Air pollution has now surpassed smoking and poor diet as a major cause of premature deaths globally – 99% of people are exposed to air pollution\, with certain communities—such as low-income\, indigenous\, and elderly populations who are more vulnerable to its harmful effects. Despite progress in electric vehicles and sustainability\, industries like electric power and transportation still account for 76% of carbon pollution\, and worsening wildfires are exacerbating the problem. \nTo combat this\, Coupa and NationSwell have launched the Equal Air Collaborative\, a platform to unite leaders across sectors and focus on solutions for air pollution. Businesses are encouraged to contribute as well\, since polluted air not only harms health but reduces worker productivity and causes billions of lost workdays globally.  \nInnovative technologies like AI and big data have the potential to improve air quality monitoring and predictive models\, but as with all technological solutions they must be used responsibly and cognizant of the potential environmental harms they themselves cause. The business sector must consider the impact of AI-powered products on air quality\, ensuring that both innovation and environmental health are prioritized for a sustainable future.  \nJoin Coupa\, NationSwell and the World Economic Forum’s Alliance for Clean Air to discuss the innovative models and approaches that businesses are spearheading and investing in to combat air pollution. \nTo encourage open and candid discussion\, this event follows the Chatham House Rule – attendees may share insights from the conversation but cannot attribute statements to specific individuals or organizations. This ensures a trusted space for thoughtful dialogue and deeper insights. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse\, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning\, inspiration\, relationship-building\, and societal impact.

SUMMARY:Impact x Talent: Updating Talent Development Systems for the Workforce of the Future
DESCRIPTION:Impact x Talent: Updating Talent Development Systems for the Workforce of the Future\n \n \n \n \n \n Virtual RoundtableThursday\, April 3\, 20254:00pm – 5:00pm ET  \n \n I'm interested in joining this event. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About\n \n \n \n \n \n Talent availability\, development\, retention\, and costs are among the top risks for business leaders today. Yet\, current talent development systems fail to cultivate the problem-solving and critical skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing work environment. In this session\, we will explore two case studies in which social impact programs bridge the skills gap by leveraging the scale of traditional talent development systems in the face of rapidly accelerating mega-trends.  \nNationSwell\, in collaboration with the International Youth Foundation (IYF)\, invites you to join an informed and dynamic discussion about the biggest talent risks facing employers today\, what future-ready skills truly look like\, and how companies can design workforce strategies that go beyond technical training to develop adaptable\, problem-solving talent. \nThis session is part 1 of a 3-event series called Impact x Talent\, cohosted by NationSwell and the International Youth Foundation. The series is exploring scalable and sustainable workforce development strategies that create shared value for businesses and communities. The ultimate goals of the series are to: \n\nDevelop a playbook of case studies featuring firms that have aligned impact strategies to talent challenges at the firm and sector level; and\nIdentify opportunities for joint action to move the needle on shared workforce challenges.\n\nTo encourage open and candid discussion\, this event follows the Chatham House Rule – attendees may share insights from the conversation but cannot attribute statements to specific individuals or organizations. This ensures a trusted space for thoughtful dialogue and deeper insights. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse\, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning\, inspiration\, relationship-building\, and societal impact.

DESCRIPTION:A Thriving Economy for All: Strategies for Collective Wealth Building\n \n \n \n \n \n Tuesday\, February 25\, 20254:00–5:00 PM ETVirtual Leader Roundtable \n \n I'm interested in joining this event.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About\n \n \n \n \n \n As social inequality and economic disparities continue to rise across the United States\, there is a pressing need to reverse the trends\, transform the economic landscape\, and build a foundation for sustainable intergenerational prosperity. Data shows areas of greater inequity experience weaker economic growth — so it benefits all of us to overcome those inequities. \nSupporting Collective Wealth Building is to acknowledge and support the shared accumulation of assets and prosperity within society\, ensuring everyone has the ability to accumulate wealth\, so we all prosper. This involves addressing systemic inequities\, including affordable housing\, access to quality education\, healthcare disparities\, and the racial wealth gap. \nJoin us for a virtual discussion\, where we’ll exchange insights on new and emerging models\, lift up proven strategies and approaches\, and unpack complex challenges\, as we aim to create more equitable and resilient local economies. \nTo encourage open and candid discussion\, this event follows the Chatham House Rule – attendees may share insights from the conversation but cannot attribute statements to specific individuals or organizations. This ensures a trusted space for thoughtful dialogue and deeper insights. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Upcoming Events\n \n \n \n \n \n Check out the Institutional calendar to learn more about upcoming events.

While there are various approaches\, one emerging trend is funders fundraising from peers in order to advance their specific theory of change and support their grantee portfolio. This roundtable will explore how funders can navigate this model in addition to other strategies to pool resources. We’ll discuss best practices\, lessons learned\, and key distinctions between funder-led fundraising and traditional donor collaboratives\, as well as the opportunities and challenges it presents for equity\, transparency\, and shared influence. When we engage in a conversation about the arts and their social impact\, we delve into how creative expression can challenge norms\, foster empathy\, and inspire action. From theater and music to visual arts and literature\, these mediums have the unique ability to transcend cultural and linguistic barriers\, bringing diverse communities together. The arts provide a platform for marginalized voices\, enabling them to tell their stories and advocate for justice. As we explore this topic\, it’s essential to consider how the arts not only reflect societal issues but also actively contribute to shaping a more equitable and inclusive world. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Upcoming Events\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Check out the Council calendar to learn more about upcoming events. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse\, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning\, inspiration\, relationship-building\, and societal impact.

SUMMARY:Navigating Risk with Your Key Stakeholders
DESCRIPTION:Navigating Risk with Your Key Stakeholders\n \n \n \n \n \n Virtual RoundtableWednesday\, October 30\, 20244:00pm – 5:00pm ET / 1:00pm – 2:00pm PT \n \n I'm interested in joining this event. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About\n \n \n \n \n \n Lawsuits aimed at undermining philanthropic efforts to advance racial justice and equity have pushed questions of “risk” to the forefront of a conversation about funder strategy. Chief among them\, “What amount of risk is acceptable to funders who invest in programs and initiatives that are under increased scrutiny?” While critical to answer with clarity\, this question often assumes agreement and alignment on what risk is\, and who carries it. Yes\, legal exposure creates risk to an organization. But what of the risks of inaction\, of muting an effective approach\, of accepting the terms of bad faith actors? Risks to the organization clearly need careful consideration when setting strategies and navigating tradeoffs\, but so too do risks to the organization’s staff\, grantees\, and the communities that it ultimately serves. \nIn this virtual leader roundtable\, we’ll explore the most effective ways to engage relevant stakeholders — including general counsels\, boards of directors\, and others — in an expansion of the term “risk”\, one that reframes risk such that it becomes more inclusive and more useful as a concept. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse\, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning\, inspiration\, relationship-building\, and societal impact.
