Virtual Roundtable

11:00am – 12:00pm ET
Air pollution has now surpassed smoking and poor diet as a major cause of premature deaths globally – 99% of people are exposed to air pollution, with certain communities—such as low-income, indigenous, and elderly populations who are more vulnerable to its harmful effects. Despite progress in electric vehicles and sustainability, industries like electric power and transportation still account for 76% of carbon pollution, and worsening wildfires are exacerbating the problem.
To combat this, Coupa and NationSwell have launched the Equal Air Collaborative, a platform to unite leaders across sectors and focus on solutions for air pollution. Businesses are encouraged to contribute as well, since polluted air not only harms health but reduces worker productivity and causes billions of lost workdays globally.
Innovative technologies like AI and big data have the potential to improve air quality monitoring and predictive models, but as with all technological solutions they must be used responsibly and cognizant of the potential environmental harms they themselves cause. The business sector must consider the impact of AI-powered products on air quality, ensuring that both innovation and environmental health are prioritized for a sustainable future.
Join Coupa, NationSwell and the World Economic Forum’s Alliance for Clean Air to discuss the innovative models and approaches that businesses are spearheading and investing in to combat air pollution.
To encourage open and candid discussion, this event follows the Chatham House Rule – attendees may share insights from the conversation but cannot attribute statements to specific individuals or organizations. This ensures a trusted space for thoughtful dialogue and deeper insights.
NationSwell’s events and experiences are designed to bring together diverse, purpose-driven leaders and organizations for learning, inspiration, relationship-building, and societal impact.
