The COVID pandemic wrought chaos and uncertainty on public schools throughout the country, creating challenges with teacher attrition and burnout virtually everywhere. Schools and systems are eyeing fall 2022 as an opportunity to continue the recovery process, but the challenges in our public schools predate the pandemic by many generations.
To help contextualize and tackle those challenges, NSC member Justin Cohen is on the cusp of releasing a new book Change Agents: Transforming Schools from the Ground Up, which tells the inspiring stories of educators in five communities who have taken school improvement work into their own hands with striking results. Justin and his publisher invite you to join an intimate roundtable discussion, to hear your expertise and guidance on how to leverage this exciting new work to re-engage educators everywhere about the work of transforming American public schools. Justin’s book makes the bold, yet practical, argument that educator-led transformation is the most promising mechanism for school improvement at scale … and that this sort of work is only possible through a dual emphasis on continuous improvement and racial equity analysis.
Members who join the roundtable will receive a confidential first peek at the manuscript, which Corwin/Sage is readying for release in fall of 2022.
